Meet Dr. David S. Raskas

Dr. David S. Raskas is a board‑certified orthopaedic spine surgeon and St. Louis native with 30+ years of experience caring for adults with neck, back, and leg pain. He believes the best outcomes start with a careful exam, a clear diagnosis, and a conservative‑first plan. When procedures are appropriate, he uses modern, minimally invasive techniques to relieve pain and restore function with as little disruption as possible.

Outside the Clinic

When he isn’t caring for patients, Dr. Raskas enjoys time with family, working out to reduce stress, and improving his golf game. He proudly supports the Jewish Federation, Backstoppers, and the University of Michigan Medical School Orthopaedic Program.

Care Philosophy

Your visit begins with a conversation. Dr. Raskas listens to how your symptoms began, what you’ve tried, and what you need to get back to. He explains imaging and exam findings in plain language, outlines both conservative and surgical options, and helps you decide confidently. Patients appreciate that he stays involved before, during, and after treatment to guide a safe return to work, sport, and daily life.

Conditions Treated

Dr. Raskas offers comprehensive care for a full range of spinal conditions—from acute injuries to degenerative issues such as disc herniation, spinal stenosis, spondylolisthesis, degenerative disc disease, and osteoporotic compression fractures. He also coordinates focused relief such as lumbar injections and Class IV laser therapy when indicated.
